Join Music@Menlo’s Artistic Directors, cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han, and special guest Anthony McGill, Principal Clarinetist of New York’s Metropolitan Opera, to celebrate the grand opening of the magnificent new Center for the Performing Arts at Menlo-Atherton, the Peninsula’s first state-of-the-art concert hall, acoustically ideal for chamber music. The afternoon’s program features Beethoven’s Cello Sonata in g minor, an early masterpiece by one of Western music’s greatest visionaries, and two seminal works of the clarinet literature—Beethoven’s Trio in B-flat Major, op. 11, and Johannes Brahms’s stunning Opus 114 Trio in a minor.
