Each summer, Music@Menlo welcomes the community to take part in a daylong series of festival events at Menlo School, many of which are free. The Festival Open House affords audiences the opportunity to become a part of the festival’s daily music-making activities, in addition to meeting fellow music lovers from the festival community. The day’s activities have traditionally included a Q & A Coffee with Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han, as well as open rehearsals—on this day only—and open coachings, which allow audiences to observe festival artists and Chamber Music Institute students in the process of preparing great chamber music repertoire for performance. In between the Open House’s plethora of musical events, visitors explore the area’s restaurants and charming boutiques or stroll the beautiful Menlo School grounds.
