AudioNotes, Music@Menlo’s innovative series of CD-based preconcert listener guides, offer audiences engaging and entertaining introductions to each festival Concert Program and Carte Blanche Concert. AudioNotes explore the when, why, and how behind the music, highlighted by musical examples and interviews with festival artists. By arming listeners with an informed perspective in advance of the performance, AudioNotes enrich the concert experience and prepare listeners for a rewarding musical journey. AudioNotes CDs are provided free with each advance ticket order.

AudioNotes Outtakes

Interviews with festival artists have been a hallmark of AudioNotes since its inception: the singular insights of musicians who have lived with and thought deeply about the music featured on Music@Menlo’s concert programs offer listeners a unique perspective on the repertoire. AudioNotes Outtakes, a new component this season, feature excerpts of conversations with festival artists and Artistic Administrator Patrick Castillo that do not appear on AudioNotes CDs/mp3s, offering additional insights and anecdotes on the music of the 2011 festival season.
